Stacey Rivest
2022 Exceptional Service Award Recipient

Assistant Residential Director
May Center for Adult Services
Western Massachusetts

Stacey will have been with May Institute an impressive 28 years in February of this coming year. She began her tenure with the May in February of 1995 and has never looked back. She came to us in 1994 as a volunteer and quickly moved into a Direct Support Professional (DSP) role, only to be made a Program Coordinator (PC) one year later.

To say that Stacey is passionate about her work would be an understatement. Her level of care and concern for the individuals we serve is unmatched, and it extends to the hardworking DSPs and PCs that she works alongside every day.

In 2019, I was very happy to have the opportunity to offer Stacey the position of Assistant Director, and I can tell you it is one of the best decisions I have made in my position. Stacey’s level of knowledge about everyone’s history, personality, medical, and clinical concerns is invaluable to the individuals, staff, PCs, and Service Coordinators alike.

Stacey understands and appreciates the importance and weight of the high clinical standards of care offered by May Institute. She is an excellent team member to clinicians, as well as an excellent role model for staff. Stacey’s willingness to not ask of any staff or PC something that she is not willing to do herself lends itself to high staff morale in her cluster of programs.

Although I believe Stacey deserves this recognition based solely on the sheer number of years she has devoted to this organization and the individuals it serves, it is my true honor to nominate her based on the skill set, expertise, work ethic, devotion, love, and passion she brings to her position at May Institute.

Nomination submitted by Paula Winter, Director of Residential Services, Western Mass

“Stacey is without a doubt one of the most focused and efficient administrators I have worked with. Her motivation is driven by improving services so the people we serve have meaningful lives.” – Margaret Walsh, M.A., BCBA, Clinical Director
