Nicole Shea

Administrative Assistant
May School | West Springfield, Mass.

The Employee Recognition & Appreciation Committee congratulates Nicole Shea for being selected for an Employee Spotlight Award in the Autumn/Winter of 2025! The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.

Nomination:

Nicole joined our program a few years ago and immediately made an impact. She has helped put systems in place to inventory supplies, organize the daily deliveries of student lunches (and minimize waste by rotation for sell by dates) and helps keep supplies available to staff and students for programming. Nicole is a bargain queen, keeping an eye on sales and promotions to help us get the best deal on reinforcers for our students. When we plan staff events, Nicole has a keen eye for how much food we will need for team building lunches, and at our recent holiday party she made sure we were set up to properly serve the catering we had ordered. She even suggested an idea for a staff appreciation activity and completed the ordering of fun syrups and flavors for our staff Iced coffee/cold brew bars last fall, based on feedback from staff. As the “voice” and “face” of the school at the front entrance, Nicole has also built a rapport with many of the families of our students. —Maggie Grady

Here’s what Nicole said winning the Employee Spotlight Award means to them:

"What I enjoy most about my job at the May Institute is working with such an incredible team of staff and students. I value the meaningful relationships we build and the strong sense of community we create together. Being recognized for the Employee Spotlight Award is truly an honor. I’m grateful for the recognition, especially knowing how many dedicated and deserving colleagues I work alongside every day."
