Michael Manning
2025 Exceptional Service Award Recipient

Behavior Technician III
May Center for Children & Families,
West Springfield,
Massachusetts

Nomination:

Michael is a Behavior Technician with nearly 15 years of experience at the May Center for Children & Families and the May Institute's Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) program. Michael is known by his colleagues as a kind, supportive, and dedicated supervisor. When his colleagues have questions, Michael utilizes reflective supervision to support their development of problem-solving skills in the workplace. He is recognized by his supervisors as a dedicated technician who prioritizes high quality service delivery and child-centered care.

Michael can be trusted to complete tasks in a timely manner and with a high degree of integrity. He asks questions when he needs support, an important quality in a mid-level supervisor. Most significantly, many of the families he has served describe him as monumental in helping them to teach their child new skills. Michael is often one of the first teacher figures in a child's life, helping them foster a love of learning through play. The children he serves make extraordinary gains under his care, a testament to his dedication to providing high quality services.

Michael is an irreplaceable member of our team in the West Springfield’s Center and Home-Based Divisions.
