Program Coordinator
Adult Residential Services
Orange Park, Fla.

Markehan is the epitome of the kind of person you would want to have advocating for your family member. Markehan is very involved in all aspects of the lives of the individuals in her group home, all of whom are nonverbal, have serious medical issues, and need total care. She has had several difficult health issues to deal with.

Markehan always makes sure that each of her individual’s personal and medical needs are met. For example, not only does she make all of their doctor appointments, but she also attends all appointments to be sure that all their health information is communicated clearly and effectively.

Over the past year, Markehan has dealt with many difficult situations in an extremely professional manner. As the Health Care Coordinator for the Florida Division, I believe that Markehan has gone above and beyond not only in advocating for the individuals she serves, but also in all aspects of her job performance.

The Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities has said on several occasions that Markehan’s home is one of the best-organized group homes that they monitor.

Thanks to Markehan, it is a home in every sense of the word.
