Marie should be recognized for her incredible level of dedication to the residents at the home where she works in Burlington, Mass. She truly cares about “her guys” as though they were her own family. You can see the trust the individuals have in her. She makes them feel safe and secure. Her quiet competence and the reassuring way she has with them makes them feel comfortable.

Marie has a good sense of humor and is a very pleasant person to be around. She also has a great deal of knowledge and experience that enable her to do her job so well.

Like Marie, her husband Francois had a unique combination of skills that helped him meet the needs of the individuals he served in an easy-going, loving way. He also had a good sense of humor and liked to laugh with the ladies he worked with. A hard worker with a can-do attitude, Francois was a former Exceptional Service Award recipient. We were heartbroken when  he passed away from COVID-19 earlier this year.

Marie also contracted COVID, but even during that trying time, her desire was to get back to her guys at the home. She was out of work for a significant period of time, but when she returned, it was apparent how much she had missed them. She enjoys caring for the residents in her home – she enjoys them, and they enjoy her. Their mutual connection is unique and special. Her ability to form those connections with the individuals in her care was something she shared with Francois. Even though Marie is going through the unthinkable, she has maintained a positive attitude, which is truly remarkable.
