The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.

Nomination:

Javon is a leader by example. Ever since he started working at the May, he has displayed good work ethics. He is there to assist when students are displaying behaviors as well as to assist students with their activities of daily living. He boosts morale with the students in the program by assisting with staff meeting and allowing the students to express themselves during the meeting. He also thanks them and encourages them to share how they feel and to discuss how their day was. He is able to keep the program running effectively as a shift leader.

Here’s what Javon said winning the Employee Spotlight Award means to them:

"These students bring out the best in me. They’ve helped me be calmer and more patient, more understanding. I appreciate them for who they are and find their strengths & not just focus on their weaknesses. Thank you to whoever nominated me. I'm sure you're a great person to work with."
