Employee Spotlight Award Winner, Autumn 2016

Ethan Kichura began his career in this unique role in August, 2014, and quickly proved himself invaluable to the school. In his role as Technology Teacher, students, teachers and the Allied Health department, rely on him to purchase, repair and maintain student communication devices. Additionally, Ethan has secured technology grants, procured equipment and introduced educational software that has enhanced the students’ abilities to communicate and learn.    

Ethan’s work impacts all of his colleagues on a daily basis and they enjoy interacting with him too! Ethan’s nominator stated that he is a “positive contributor to May culture—always doing his job with pride, efficiency and a smile on his face, Ethan is always willing to do whatever it takes to help. His passion for his work is contagious…”

When asked what he likes most about the organization and his job, Ethan replied, “Working at May Institute is about seeing the potential for excellence and taking steps to realize it. I’m fortunate to work with such passionate professionals. I have the privilege of sharing my research with them, as together we seek the best ways to assist a wide variety of learners. I am emboldened by the dedication of those around me as much as I am the promising technologies that are emerging every day. Receiving this award is an affirmation that the collaboration between teams is having an impact.
