I nominated Elisangela Pires because she exemplifies the meaning of the Exceptional Service Award.

Ellie has been an outstanding employee for the past 6 years. Since coming to May, Ellie has grown to be a strong, helpful, and very dependable employee. It’s been a pleasure to watch Ellie grow not just as a reliable and exemplary staff member, but to see her interact with the individuals in her care.

Ellie is very comfortable with delegating and taking on leadership roles. She completes her management assignments thoroughly and promptly. Her parent contracts are always informative and perfectly capture the highs and lows of a student’s week. Her attention to detail and thoroughness as an employee keep operations running smoothly and her colleagues in the loop and up to speed.

Last spring, her hard work did not go unnoticed, and she was named staff of the month. She tackles all her responsibilities with positivity and patience. She goes above and beyond to make the residence feel like a home for those in her care and even adds flair and decorations to the space to make it more fun for everyone. She takes so much pride in what she does, and it shows.
