Deanna Neal

Employee Spotlight Award Winner, Summer 2016
Deanna Neal is the Program Coordinator at one of our residential group homes in the May Center for Adult Services in Eastern Mass.

Deanna’s colleagues were moved by the leadership and compassion she showed in the face of a formidable challenge, when a woman who lived in the home passed away after an illness.

Deanna’s colleagues state that prior to the woman's death, Deanna had been proactive in scheduling medical appointments and advocating on her behalf so that she could receive the best and most appropriate care possible. When the woman subsequently passed away, Deanna’s colleagues state that as affected and sad as she was, she stayed strong, maintained her professionalism and became the support system the staff and other individuals residing in the home needed to get through a very difficult and sad period.

Deanna began her career with May Institute in March, 2010 as a Relief Program Specialist. Before being promoted to Program Coordinator in November, 2013, she worked as a Program Specialist, Overnight Program Specialist, and Assistant Program Coordinator.

When asked what she loves about her position at the May, Deanna responded, “I love making a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve, as well as working with all the awesome people at May Institute. I really appreciate the spotlight award; it motivates me to continue to deliver excellence.”
