Daniel Martin

Sr. Director Clinical Standards
Home, School, and Center Based Services
Randolph, Massachusetts

The Employee Recognition & Appreciation committee congratulates Daniel Martin for being selected for an Employee Spotlight Award in the Spring of 2021! The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.

Nomination:
Dan has been a champion in Home, School, and Center-based (HSCB) Services when it comes to addressing all the challenges and considerations that have emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has taken it upon himself to remain up-to-date on all CDC recommendations as well as state guidelines and regulations we need to follow in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. As such, he is often the first person to catch any changes and is driving the conversation to make revisions to our screening tools and procedures. He is consistently taking the initiative to draft tip sheets, SOPs, and checklists to support our teams in optimizing service delivery during the pandemic. Many of the documents he created have been shared and adapted across other divisions at May. Additionally, he has become the primary individual to whom program directors address COVID-related questions and, from supporting those scenarios, Dan drafted the COVID scenarios grid for HSCB services. In the midst of the integral support he has provided to teams related to the pandemic, he successfully led our division through its first accreditation of our ABA centers which culminated in the receipt of a 3-year certificate of accreditation (the maximum awarded). Either of those on its own would be worthy of nominating Dan and Employee Spotlight Award, but successfully leading both at the same time is even more outstanding.

Here’s what Dan said winning the Employee Spotlight Award means to him:

“It is an honor to receive this award as we have many dedicated, highly trained clinicians and operations and support staff who go above and beyond every day to support the children, adults, and families we serve. I continue to be thankful for the opportunity to work in collaboration with families, schools, our programs, and many others to support the delivery of evidenced-based practices for children and adults served by May Institute. “
