[Read press release here.]

Dr. Whitney Kleinert came to May Institute as a post-doctoral fellow in school consultation. Following her fellowship year, she was hired as the Program Director for the Boston Public Schools (BPS) contract, serving over 30 schools and hundreds of students throughout each academic year. She has provided outstanding leadership in her management of this contract, which is the largest school-funded service contract at May.

Whitney displays a passionate commitment to evidenced-based practices, while providing services in a compassionate, caring, and culturally sensitive manner. She works diligently to break down barriers that compromise outcomes for students and families by coordinating effectively with all.

Whitney has been an exemplary model of professionalism when providing clinical and operational support to staff she supervises. Whitney has cultivated a positive work environment that promotes work/life balance for her large team (19 direct reports) and delivery of quality ABA-based services across challenging school-based settings. She actively supports her BCBAs and direct staff, always finding a way acknowledge their achievements.

Whitney also consistently works diligently to develop and implement systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery for BPS students and families served by May Institute through the BPS contract. Her work has resulted in more timely billing and improved fiscal performance.

In just one year of directing this program—a year in which she received her BCBA and became a licensed psychologist—Whitney has developed several tools to maximize limited resources for BPS students. She is truly a collaborator and directly responsible for the improved team cohesion and retention of this important contract. Whitney is a supervisor who exemplifies the quality and positive impact that May Institute strives for in all programs.
