Benjamin Hatch, 2011 Trustees’ Fund Awardee

Assistant Residential Teacher
May Center for Child Development; Jean Circle 2 Residence
Randolph, Mass.

Ben has been an employee of May Institute for more than 15 years. During that time, he has primarily worked as an overnight staff member in our residences.

He began his employment with the Institute at the May Center for Child Development in Chatham, Mass., and worked in several different programs there. When the Chatham school students transitioned to the Randolph campus, Ben decided that he wanted to continue working for May Institute and continue serving the individuals he had served for the past 12 years, so he relocated to Randolph. This exemplifies his dedication to May Institute and the students we serve.

Ben is one of our hardest working staff members. He is particularly diligent when it comes to completing data, house chores, and all other duties he may be charged with on a daily basis.

Ben prides himself on his punctuality. He is never late. In fact, he is most often early for all shifts. Ben is a guy you can always count on to help you out with a staffing need. He has worked a great many regular morning and evening shifts on top of his typical overnight schedule.

He is a very proficient teacher of student programs. Ben promptly brings any concerns he has regarding students and house needs to the appropriate people. Ben is well respected by many. His rapport with other staff members, administrators, as well as the students he serves, has always been positive.

He would be truly honored to be a nominee for the Trustees’ Fund Award – and even more so if he were to receive one.
