The Employee Recognition & Appreciation committee congratulates Danee Jones for being selected for an Employee Spotlight Award in the Fall of 2015! The award recognizes the exceptional contributions of May employees. Winners are nominated by their colleagues, managers, and supervisors from across the organization.

Danee Jones is a Program Specialist at a residence for adults with developmental disabilities in Cotuit, part of our May Center for Adult Services on Cape Cod and in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Danee’s supervisors and colleagues applaud her continued dedication and commitment to the residence and the four gentlemen that call Cotuit “home.” The employee who nominated her noted that, even at a time when staffing is challenging, Danee continues to keep the focus on the individuals.

Danee makes it a point to ensure that her residents have access to the community. She often plans special outings, birthday parties, and trips aimed at ensuring that the individuals stay active. Most recently, Danee was credited by her supervisor as being the driving force behind getting the individuals involved with a local athletic club.

When presented with the Employee Spotlight Award, Danee stated, “I was no stranger walking into this field, but I was a stranger walking through these doors. Working at May Institute creatively tested my limits and introduced me to a whole new appreciation on helping others.…I am truly thankful for being placed in such a fitting environment, and I want to thank the May for welcoming and taking a chance on me. There are really no limits on how far you can go, and this recognition says it all. I can honestly say that I could not have done it without the support I've had throughout this journey…”
