Joanie C. Phillips, MSW, LICSW, BCBA, CBIST
Director of Family Services/Clinical Social Worker, May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders, Brockton, Mass.


Ms. Phillips brings more than 20 years of expertise to her role as the Director of Family Services and Clinical Social Worker for the May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders. Prior to joining the May Center School in 2001, she was a Group Facilitator/Consultant for NRC Family Network and an Outpatient Clinician for Community Care Services.

Ms. Phillips received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Assumption College, and her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Board Certified Behavior Specialist (BCBA), and Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer (CBIST). She has a Certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and a Certification in Narrative Therapy.

Her additional areas of expertise include children, adolescents, young adults, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma.
