May Institute

Residential Services & Community-based Living

For families who need more intensive support for their children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities, May Institute offers residential living in one of our community-based homes. Our staff work diligently to address the needs and concerns of families, and they create a home-away-from-home that is safe and nurturing, where caring for and about each child is the first priority.

In Massachusetts, staff members at our residences work closely with teachers and administrators at the May Center for Child Development school in Randolph, where the children who live in the residences attend school.

Our residential services focus on helping children and adolescents strengthen and generalize independent living skills, and are designed in accordance with each child's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Our highly skilled staff provide 24-hour support and supervision to ensure that each child’s unique needs are met.

Through every aspect of a child’s residential experience, we emphasize home/school interaction and communication, relying on a strong partnership between May Institute and the family to nurture and support each child.
