Defining Ethical Conduct for Behavior Analysts

Professional Continuing Education Seminar Series

Join us for this workshop that is part of our intermediate to advanced-level workshop series for human services and behavioral healthcare professionals working in clinical, educational, medical, and rehabilitation settings.

Instructor: Mary Jane Weiss, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Event Description: Ethical conduct has been a constant emphasis and goal since the inception of the field. Consumer protection was a major force in the formation of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and credentialing has helped to codify professional conduct expectations. In 2016, the BACB implemented a new Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. The Code outlines our obligations in the contexts of behavior analytic service delivery and professional work.  In this presentation, the content and themes of the code will be summarized.  Strategies for maximizing individual and organizational compliance will be highlighted. In addition, strategies for preventing drift in ethical conduct will be reviewed.
