Positive Schools > Adopting the Model

Procedure
Adopting the Positive Schools model is a simple process. Typically, members of the Positive Schools team visit an interested school to provide a two-hour presentation to school administrators, teachers, and support staff. The presentation describes the program, its research base, program goals, and expected results. The team also outlines the time commitment required to implement the program and develops an implementation schedule tailored to the needs of the school.

Costs
The cost of implementing Positive Schools depends upon the specific school's needs, size, and location. All training materials are included. Cost reductions are available for multi-site or district-wide implementation. Positive Schools staff work closely with schools to identify funding sources. These can include Title I monies, federal or state professional development funds, and other funding sources such as special education and professional development funds, corporate grants, private foundations, and community sponsorships. The Positive Schools program meets the criteria defined by the Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration (CSRD) program, which provides additional federal funding to schools for three years.
