For more than 50 years, May Institute has set a national standard for providing comprehensive services to children and adolescents with autism, brain injury, developmental, and behavioral disorders. From research-based services for autistic children, to a one-of-a-kind school for children and adolescents with brain injury, to effective behavioral therapy techniques, we have the services your child needs to lead the fullest life possible. Our state-of-the-art services reflect the talent and expertise of our doctoral-level clinical
leadership and hundreds of highly trained teachers, therapists,
and other specialists.
We have six schools for children and adolescents with autism, PDD, and other developmental disabilities located in: Chatham, Randolph, West Springfield, and Woburn, Massachusetts; in Freeport, Maine; and in Santa Cruz, California. A seventh school serves children and adolescents with brain injury.
In addition, May offers both home-based
and school consultation
services and has developed a unique Positive
Schools
program that combines behavior support techniques and proven
instructional practices to reduce discipline problems and improve
academic engagement in schools throughout the country. Our Safety
Protection Education and Assertiveness for Kids (SPEAK)
program, also available nationwide, is a child abuse prevention
program designed to educate youngsters about the issues of abuse.
