  Degree Programs

Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis
The May Institute, in collaboration with Northeastern University, offers a master of science degree in applied behavior analysis. This full-time program emphasizes knowledge of basic operant principles, application of research to practice, and use of non-aversive interventions. The curriculum, approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, prepares graduates to take the national exam for certification as a behavior analyst. Courses integrate academic requirements with work experiences, focusing on practical solutions to real problems. Classes take place at the corporate office in Randolph and meet in the late afternoons and evenings.

Master of Education in Special Education
The May Institute, through Fitchburg State College, offers a master of education in special education. This 45-credit program leads to certification by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a teacher of children with intensive special needs. The curriculum is designed around supervised, field-based assignments that can be completed at May Institute’s service sites. Courses take place in the late evenings and Saturdays in locations convenient to employee work sites.

Master of Arts in Psychology
The Bridgewater State College master of arts in psychology degree program is a clinical program designed to help students become excellent therapists and users of research. Students may apply 15 hours of supervised fieldwork to the 60-credit hour requirement. This program fulfills the academic requirements for Licensed Mental Health Counselors in Massachusetts. Bridgewater State College is a mid-sized public college located just 30 minutes south of Boston; classes are held in convenient locations.
