Day Programs
May Institute offers day programs for adults with psychiatric and
developmental disabilities and for mentally ill older adults. In
addition, we provide community support and social opportunities
for adults with special needs through our drop-in social clubs and
clubhouse programs. Our May
South TAPP Program - Treatment and Aftercare for Probationers and Parolees - provides case management and community services to ex-offenders with mental illness.
Crossroads Day Treatment
The Crossroads Day Treatment Program, located in West
Roxbury, Massachusetts, offers unique, comprehensive, therapeutic
and rehabilitative services to adults with psychiatric and developmental
disabilities. Crossroads provides a continuum of care between outpatient
treatment and partial or full hospitalization. Through specialized
clinical programming, therapeutic groups, and individualized treatment,
adults participating in the Crossroads program may become productive
members of their communities. In addition, Crossroads has developed
a specialized program to meet the unique needs of young adults,
ages 18 to 25. It includes psychiatric, educational, and vocational
rehabilitation components.

Geriatric Day Program
May's geriatric services include a comprehensive adult day health program for mentally ill older adults (over 50). This program is based in West
Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Drop-in Social Club
This innovative program offers social activities and structure to
individuals with mental illness. Linkage between the social club
and other treatment-based programs provides seamless and cost-effective
implementation of treatment in community settings. This program
is based in West
Roxbury, Massachusetts.
Clubhouse Programs
May Institute clubhouse programs provide community-based support
to adults with long-term mental illness. Clubhouse participants
and staff work together as colleagues in an atmosphere of mutual
caring and respect. Services include:
- Job skills and employment support
- Evening/weekend social and recreational opportunities
- Housing, education, and social support
Clubhouses are located in Attleboro
(Corner Club), Fall
River (Towne House), Harwichport
(Cove Club), Hyannis
(Baybridge Club), and New
Bedford (Heritage House), all in Massachusetts.
Community Rehabilitative Support
The (CRS) program in New
Bedford, Massachusetts, provides outreach and services to individuals
with severe and persistent mental illness. Services include case
coordination and medication management.
TAPP-Treatment and Aftercare for Probationers and Parolees
The May
South TAPP program, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Human
Resources and the Georgia Department of Corrections, is available
to individuals in the state of Georgia. Fully accredited by CARF,
the program provides case management and after-care community services
to over 1,500 ex-offenders with mental illness as they reintegrate
in the community following incarceration.
TAPP is designed to reduce recidivism and improve community reintegration
while maintaining public safety. TAPP case managers arrange post-discharge
treatment appointments and coordinate communication with parole
and probation officers. Case managers also ensure that each program
participant is linked to the most appropriate community-based mental
health treatment, vocational, residential, and support resources.
