Heidi Howard, M.P.A.
Chief of Business Development
Ms. Howard joined May Institute in 1996 as Director of Special Projects, and has since served as Director of Market Research and Analysis, Director of Marketing, and Vice President and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Development. To date, her career highlights include: securing over $30 million in contracts for outpatient mental health services; playing a key role in establishing May South, the Institute’s southern subsidiary; and bringing positive behavior support programming to thousands of students in public schools across the country.
As Chief of Business Development, Howard oversees development, communications, marketing, and public relations for May Institute. She is involved in ongoing affiliation, partnership, and merger discussions with other organizations. In addition, she is responsible for strategically planning rollout of key initiatives and introducing services to new geographic regions.
Howard is also a member of the leadership team of the National Autism Center sm, a new nonprofit organization whose initial development is being sponsored by May Institute. The Center is dedicated to supporting effective, evidence-based treatment approaches for autism and to providing direction to families, practitioners, organizations, policymakers, and funders.
Howard earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
